Special designed Baku Tour that gives a sense of travelling in history from the medieval ages of Baku till the nowadays modern city. Take a tour of Baku by night or daytime group, and discover the city’s contemporary architecture and illuminated monuments. Look out for highlights such as the Maiden’s Tower and the city walls, and enjoy photo stops at the Heydar Aliyev Cultural Center and Upland Park as you learn about the city from a local guide.
Tour will start from the main entrance of Old City called Double Gates ( Gosha Gala Gapisi). Old City or “Icharishahar” is the oldest and historical core of Baku surrounded by medieval castle walls. Old City is listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO considered an open-air museum. The Baku tour consists of 3 parts. Firstly the tour will show you Baku’s medieval architecture from the 12th century. Baku tour will proceed to show you buildings from the 19th and 20th centuries that are mostly related to the Oil boom and the Russian Empire period. 3rd part starts from the Soviet invasion to the independence of Azerbaijan and finishes with the modern days of Baku. All the main points in the old city like Maiden Tower, Juma Mosque, and Shirvansah’s Palace will be covered during the Baku tour. Afterwards, the tour will continue to show you outside of the old city which was built in the 19th century during the Oil Boom period. When the Oil Boom started in Azerbaijan, great architectural buildings were built by Oil Magnates on the outside of the castle walls. Guests will be picked up by our minivan from in front of Ismailliya palace and transferred to the Upland park near the Flame towers. Upland Park is the highest park in Baku where people can see the best panoramic view of the City. Right near the Upland Park Marty’s Lane, the Milli Majlis building will be seen as well. From the top point of the city, our guide will explain to the visitors the independence period of Azerbaijan.
